Senior Electrical Engineer

Our West Geography is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in our San Francisco or Sacramento office. At Arup, we use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do. We are looking for a skilled Senior Engineer who is take the lead to aide designs for a wide range of projects including healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial and rail and provide leadership for the project teams and client goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of electrical systems on medium to large-scale complex projects (healthcare, laboratories, data centers, commercial and rail)
- Mentor and supervise junior staff and collaborate with outstanding multi-disciplinary teams maximizing our experience at the local, regional, and global levels
- Provide tangible leadership for the project team and client goals, progress, and direction.
- Attend client facing and OAC (Owner, Architect, Contractor) meetings.
- Prepare and review drawings and specifications.
- Present technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences.
- Lead projects and work closely with project managers to deliver quality work within commercial metrics
- Connect solutions/ideas to bigger picture project goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
- 8 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings
- Ability to manage projects and prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working, present technical material for review by technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with 3D BIM software - Revit MEP
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with design and analysis of renewable and distributed energy systems
- Professional Engineering License in US and LEED accreditation
- Experience with power system modeling using SKM or similar software. Ability to manage projects of varied scales would be preferred
Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in California is $125,000 and $156,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of California will differ.
