Senior Civil Engineer

Our Calgary Office is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Civil & Water team. The successful candidate will also act as a Design Lead on projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Lead and manage the design of key elements of large infrastructure projects including civil roadways, utilities, watermains and drainage;
- Manage small projects such as the civil engineering design for parks, or site development design for a variety of projects;
- Support the development of graduate engineers, and interns in the team and review and manage their technical work;
- Coordinating with multiple disciplines, to bring a multidiscipline and holistic approach to design on our projects;
- Take responsibility for the delivery of client deliverables;
- Assist project managers on day to day running of projects such as Light Rail Transit, subway and other transportation and water projects across Canada;
- Attend, contribute to, and lead internal and external project meetings;
- Engaging and working with clients and municipal and utility authorities to obtain approvals for design work;
- Prepare technical reports;
- Presenting technical material in innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences;
- Understanding industry trends and best practices in the civil and infrastructure markets; and
- Participating in local Professional Associations.
The Qualified candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Civil Engineering.
- P Eng., licensed in the Province of Alberta (APEGA).
- Experience working with the City of Calgary, Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, utility owners (ENMAX, ATCO, Bell, Rogers, Telus, etc.) and other municipal authorities in the area and experience gaining approval from these authorities.
- Experience with working with railway authority (CPKC) will be an asset.
- Experience with 3D modelling using design software such as Autodesk and Bentley, InfoWorks, and hydraulic modelling tools.
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.
- The ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines and exceptional organization skills required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
- Experience with the AFP/P3 delivery model would be advantageous.

Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in Calgary is $100,000 – 110,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Calgary will differ.
