Responsible for leading consulting engineering commissions and coordinating the delivery of engineering documentation for utility-scale energy projects with large energy services components as part of the energy transition in geography.
The role will increase the number and scale of projects that our existing and prospective clients will receive. A key focus of the position will be securing new and repeat commissions driven and largely differentiated that deliver quality results and successful project outcomes, consistent with the Arup strategy. The role will also develop staff for work in the utility-scale energy market, Arup’s role in it and the services we wish to deliver.
Responsibilities:
Project Delivery
· Lead in proposal preparation, preparing Arup submission material including scope and resource planning.
· Deliver bid and execution phase design and consulting services within the utility-scale renewable energy sector described above.
· Lead everyday execution of project engineering scopes of work.
· Handle own and supporting team production schedule, change management on Arup bids and project work.
· Lead consulting and engineering commissions of full electrical systems for renewable utility-scale applications, including power, distributed generation, energy storage, microgrid, control and signaling systems.
· Review construction drawings and specifications for renewable energy systems and equipment.
· When required Engineer-of-Record responsibilities for US states of interest to the business.
· Support Arup team independent engineering services with technical due diligence and opinions.
· Preparing high-quality technical and consulting reports.
Commercial
· Lead project technical performance on projects to quality, time and budget.
· Handle promotional and bid pursuit costs to agreed budgets
· Lead the growth of the business to achieve or exceed the agreed utility-scale renewable business, annual business revenue, profitability and cashflow targets.
· Develop a business that is servicing repeat clients and building new client relationships.
Leadership
· Mentor and develop future business leaders, promote learning from successes and challenges in the business.
· Support the development of technical, commercial, and soft skills development of staff.
· Promote excellent quality of project work.
Qualifications:
· Degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineering license in Texas
· 10+ -years’ experience in the design of utility-scale power generation, transmission, and distribution systems projects.
· Consistent record of preparing design of utility-scale large and complex solar, wind, storage and grid integration projects.
· Experience with power system control and protection systems and strategies.
· Demonstrated ability to lead and handle engineers, other technical and support staff.
· Excellent track record in business development with outstanding team leadership and relationship building skills.
· Demonstrated strong commercial competence and financial skills.
· Sound industry networks among potential client market and a significant reputation in a relevant area of expertise.
· Sound understanding of renewable energy standards and procedures. The ability to prioritize work effectively, run deadlines and outstanding organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment.
· Excellent communication skills essential for team-based working.
· Effective presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.

Hiring Range -The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in Texas is $170,000 and $205,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Texas might differ.
