Mechanical Engineering Leader

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineering Leader to join our Toronto office. You will be leading large complex multi-disciplinary projects and helping to develop our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and innovative mechanical engineer who leaves a strong positive impression on clients.
Responsibilities:
- Design and management of large, complex, long-term projects while coordinating with other disciplines and external partners within time and budget constraints.
- Lead and develop a team of mechanical engineers across Canada with a focus on sustainable design.
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues.
- Put together fees and proposals as well as developing strong client relationships.
- Predict and plan current and future resources, including strategic membership growth, while developing and mentoring the team.
- Represents Arup in the industry at high levels nationally and internationally, e.g. think tanks, standard committees and international conferences.
- Create an environment of inclusivity that inspires the growth and career development of junior and senior team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the built environment with major project leadership experience.
- Extensive experience with HVAC and plumbing systems in buildings, sustainable, low carbon and innovative strategies on projects.
- Professional Engineer in Canada (P.Eng).
- Experience in multidisciplinary project leadership.

Toronto Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $170,000 to $210,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
