Our Canada Digital Advisory team is experiencing rapid growth as a result of the need to support the digital requirements on four large infrastructure projects that will continue to be active in the North geography for several years, including, but not limited to ECWE, OnCorr, Alexandra Bridge and VIA-HFR. This Cybersecurity Consultant will help to further expand our local digital service offering in the key area of cybersecurity and will support local client relationship development. 


Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following:

•     Communicate and liaise with clients/partners/stakeholders and manage client/partner/stakeholder meetings;
•     Develop and present to key stakeholders and be able to speak to a high level of proficiency and knowledge of cybersecurity, with an ability to adopt to the technical aptitude of the intended audience(s);
Technical Delivery:
•     Develop and advise clients on industry best practice in cybersecurity practices to assess, manage and mitigate risk, remediate impacts and devise best options / strategies;
•     Support clients in lead author role to develop, review and govern the implementation of cybersecurity requirements on major infrastructure projects;
•     Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity standards, legislation and changing landscape;
•     Support mentorship, cross-training and development of colleagues in digital teams in topics and key considerations of cybersecurity;
•     Active participation in informing geography and regional leadership on cybersecurity resourcing requirements and hiring needs, helping with recruitment, onboarding and mentorship of cybersecurity staff / digital teams;
•     Represent Arup within the North geography and contribute to the promotion of Arup digital expertise, ensuring we are seen as a thought leader, innovator and trusted advisor in digital in general and with particular emphasis on security.

Qualifications
•     Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronic, Information systems or similar) or other area related to rail and /or cyber industry, or minimum 15 years industry experience in progressively senior roles, including leadership experience (teams, projects and /or programs);
•     Security certification such as CISSP, CISM or equivalent;
•     Demonstrated previous experience in Rail & Transit Infrastructure projects;
•     Familiarity with rail related controls and systems;
•     Experience of cyber security risk assessment in a rail environment;
•     Experience in compliance with regional rail cyber legislation;
•     Ability to lead independent work packages in area of expertise and effectively resource and delegate as appropriate;
•     Ability to mentor and supervise staff as the team grows;
•     Ability to identify and document security gaps and suggest mitigation actions;
•     Ability to stay current on emerging security threats and technologies, including but not limited to research into and developing well-informed recommendations involving new solutions;
•     The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment;
•     Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working;
•     Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.
